should have followed my instinct.
take a deep breathe and be prepared for a longggg doodling. here's the story:
i decided to go for my foot reflexology again during lunch today. coincidentally, the building management gave away coupons to tenants to enjoy some retail therapy. when i flipped through the booklet which was a handful of discounts, i noticed that Chen Kang Wellness is giving $8 off for every 40 mins of foot reflex. no, it was not the $8 which attracted me, in fact it was the actual or usual price: $28 nett for 40 mins! thats almost half of what Kenko charges! so ok, Parco Millenia is just stepssss away from my office.
when i came to the shop, a PRC attended to me. She's nice, very soft spoken and courteous. an angmoh was receiving some sort of a fullbody massage on a chair and leg rest. another massuese was giving foot reflex to another man seated two seats to my right.
the only thing i really like about this place is i get to wash my feet cleanly with soap and warm water prior the treatment. Kenko uses wet wipes and baby powder instead, but then again, no issues for me.
i was served by this uncle. i don't know, but the moment he lathered some sort of cream - i strongly think its Vaseline coz i recognized the green bottle and shape as i have used one before - and started rubbing my feet, i just felt that i made a mistake.
and then, came hell.
uncle started using his knuckles and scrapped my feet vertically. im telling u, his knuckles are equivalent to that of chopsticks! it @#$%^& hurts lah ok! it got so bad that i was sitting UPRIGHT and held my breath every so often. tell u what's worst: something is wrong with the uncle's ears. i believe its due to his age. yes i pity him, i really do and im thankful he did my foot reflex. but oh my goodness. my pleas weren't replied, i even used hand gestures to get his attention and even jerked my knees several times, but very sadly he could not hear nor take notice of it! im telling you, midway through my left feet (which was the first feet he began with), i wanted to just run away and zoom to Kenko. and for the rest of the "journey", i was UPTIGHT and seated UPRIGHT for 99%. the only consolation (and enjoyment, i must say) was watching the angmoh's reaction while getting massage. at some points, i burst out laughing because his massuese seemed to be punching his "gun" and squeezing the hell out of his arse. i thought that guy was like a bolster. or pillow. or cushion. u know, he reacted the same way if you would hit a pillow: that same bouncing reflex action. his face was all red. one time, the masseuse shook his entire arms by the fingers as if she was shaking dust off a carpet! it really showed the flabbiness of his arms. oooh unsightly. and u know what? even she was laughing! the poor man got redder and redder. wahahahah! just as i was amusing myself, the uncle yet once again scrapped my tortured feet, jolting me as if i got struck by an electric shock. incredibly painful. a sure-fire and fantastic way to grab your client's attention. *thanks, uncle* anyways, huhu for me. i didnt managed to doze off like i usually do rather comfortably at Kenko. the man beside me was sleeping. lucky him, his female massuese must have given him a good time. (sounds cheesy, i know). hehehe.
i endured the entire 40 mins, and ended up with sore feet as well as redness on my left knee. bruised. argghh.
in comparison, Kenko foot reflex works in such a way that the masseuse will press on acupoints and then thread your feet horizontally in a sequence. also they constantly check whether the pressure applied on your feet is suitable and will adjust, if needed. dozing off only 10 mins upon starting the reflex is normal. at the end of the 45 mins session, i feel very relaxed and my two feets are light and happy. gosh.. how i miss my Kenko. every single penny is really worth it at Kenko.
*Dear Kenko, and my therapists Joanne & Esther, im never ever gonna stray away from you guys*

empire state of mind
i know what i want, and i think i know what to do.
we have plans, but its only between us.
it's a question of time, yes. but why do i still feel lost & confused? truth be told, im clear as the sky is. YOU are making me confused.
you know whats my empire state of mind right now?
confusion. like i've just spun my whole self ten times round and round and round, before finally swinging myself on the great viking. full on.
i need Him. Ya Allah... please guide me.

year end trip
this dec, i think i know where i'll go next.
you can sigh and be quick to quip, "indonesia? again??". but frankly, i cant care more.
my recent visits to Indo have peak my interests to go back to my roots and learn everything i can. true, i have climbed Borobudur, visited Mount Dieng, almost choked to death by sulphuric gas emitted from volcano and toured around the Kraton (or Sultan ) Palace at Yogya amongst other things. somehow i feel its insufficient. 10 yrs on now, i wanna revisit all these places and really take in the sights, culture and importantly, understand my family's background. im sure its pretty immense. :)
so, sin-jakarta-yogya-solo-wonosobo-jakarta-sin.
yes thats it.
toodies!

a simple, near trip. all we needed.
i had such a wonderful, wonderful weekend. for the first time, throughout our time together in 7 years, we went and stayed out of Singapore. well, wasnt far at all.. n no plane needed. just an hour's ferry ride to Batam.
i didnt really know what to expect, maybe some little or even major differences will be revealed. however, to my / our extreme surprise, we really worked out well together!
we stayed at the newly opened Harmoni One Convention Hotel near BCFT, not the one which my dad likes to stay in Nagoya Hill. omg.. the hotel was perfect! maybe a bit issues here n there due to it being at the teething stage. apart from that, im all praises for the hotel. the staff's service was exceptional, the hotel & room was immaculate and clean, the food was not much but enough and most importantly, tasty!
i was pleasantly surprised to realise that my bf was sincerely willing to know more about the Indo culture, and he seemed to like it.. and the food too. he even stopped by an all-wood yet modern chic furniture shop and suggested to eat satay by a roadside stall!
sadly we were there to stay only for a night. im so sure that we'd have a blast if there were more days and nights there.
thank baby, for agreeing to go on this trip. i love u.

all is good
good news!
i got my fam 4 tix to go watch the inaugural performance of Matah Ati here in Singapore on Oct 23rd, see: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Matah-Ati/150065008356247?v=info . im intrigued because my dad's roots are from Java and this theatre production is based on a true story from one of Indo's epic kingdom history - Mangkunegaran and Surakarta (now known as Solo). so hopefully the show will blow us off. :)
OoOOoOh my Tattersall bag will arrive tomorrow and my Noel Aimee, in a couple of weeks' time. *cross fingers, knees and toes*
another piece of good news: im going for a very short weekend getaway with him on saturday. not too sure yet where though.. thinking of malacca, bintan or batam (need to get permission from dear father first). found some nice & new hotels at amazing value. i hope the experience matches or exceeds the expectation.
cant wait!

when doing simply nothing is (very) hazardous
you know most of the time i spend at work is... trying to find something to do. so the worldwideweb is very, very crucial to me. otherwise i'll decompose in seconds. literally.
ok so i have read news on various channels in the morning and checked emails. what else can i do?
this is where Accidents happen. i crashed on: online shops, travel sites and flight deals. trust me, all you need is these 3 powerful "machines" to keep me busy. my chair is a key witness AND victim all at once which had experienced all sorts of crash-bumps: (a) approx 50kg load continuously bumping up & down due to hyperventilation upon spotting fantastic deals, (b) one hard thud when dampened and (c) sat upon for hours.
for today, i was surfing for COACH tattersall big carryall. made a huge mistake of not buying it when i saw it sitting nicely at Takashimaya. oh wells, yes i know it's past season's. but who cares when it still looks really nice in my eyes. hehe. let you in on a secret: i hate COACH Op Art design. not a fan. it sorta reminds me of worms.. particularly the ones that crawl on plants and able to curl itself and hardens! ok mentioning this made me shiver. bad idea.
gota go now. going for a date: 4km jog with him! :)

checked and unchecked
ok so i said i had tonnes of things on my to-do list, and over the weekend here's what i accomplished based on my last post:
- "treating my family to a nice dinner": mom didnt want to be fed outside (very choosy, this lady) and dad was gripped with gout. so took them for grocery shopping at T3 instead and sat down for coffee and chocolate at Coffee Bean after that. hence, checked.
- "getting my bf a punching bag": came with gloves and a really cute mini punching bag coin punch cum key ring. really cute. checked.
- "pampering my own self with a new luxury bag": well.. i didnt get a tote, satchel, top handle or even a crossbody. just a hand-carry pouch. now that i've got it, i reckon a nice lanyard/key ring would be nice though.. turn it into a wristlet. yes, thats it. shooooppppp! half-checked.
- "more clothes": failed. i got 1 new one for work and 4 casuals only! how depressinggggg. where has my ghoulish clothes-crazed spirit gone to? oh hello?
- "declutter": 5 new clothes and declutter the entire wardrobe? makes no sense to me. you say? *sorry darling Wardee (my wardrobe's nick in case you didnt know), please contain your asthma. promise i'll get you loads of betterrrr "medicines" to cure you*
- "short weekend getaway": - zips mouth -
oh wells.
